Requirements

• Possession of California License with one year of clinical experience in a community mental health program.
• Possession of a valid driver's license within 30 days of hire.
• A valid Class C driver's license must be maintained throughout employment in this class to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Pursuant to Section 5600 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, must possess a valid California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker; Marriage, Family Therapist; or Psychologist (with an earned doctorate degree in psychology, educational psychology, education with a field of specialization in counseling psychology or education with a field of specialization in educational psychology); or, pursuant to Section 4999.20(a)(3)(A) of the Business and Professions Code, must possess a valid California license as a Professional Clinical Counselor.

Nice To Haves

• A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, or from a school, college, or university that is approved by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or meeting the educational requirement of 48 semester/trimester or 72 quarter units of master’s level coursework to accrue hours for Supervised Professional Experience (SPE), per the Board of Psychology.
• Completion of supervised clinical experience sufficient to qualify for licensure.
• Registration as an intern for licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners or meeting requirements as defined by the Board of Psychology to accrue hours of Supervised Professional Experience (SPE), or licensed in another State.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy using trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based practices.
• Complete clinical assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and documentation in alignment with Medi-Cal and county standards.
• Support clients experiencing a wide range of mental health needs, including co-occurring conditions, through ongoing therapy and care coordination.
• Partner with case managers, psychiatrists, crisis staff, hospitals, and community agencies to ensure clients receive the right care at the right time.
• Participate in team meetings, clinical consultations, and program development efforts that strengthen services for adults in our community.
