About The Position

Beachside Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician for its Tustin/Santa Ana detox and residential substance abuse facility. The technician helps clients follow their daily and evening programming schedules and supports their care in a detox/residential setting. The role requires knowledge of addiction recovery, a clean driving record, willingness to drive, and being drug-free and fully vaccinated against COVID. The position is in person and full-time. Other duties may be assigned as program needs arise.

Requirements

RADT or SUDRC credential.
At least one year of experience in a human services setting.
Clean DMV record and/or compliance with program requirements; must be willing to drive.
Valid driver’s license.
Current First Aid/CPR certification.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be legally able to work in the United States.
Must be drug-free.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID.
Understanding of chemical dependency.
Understanding of the 12 Step process and the alternative SMART program.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and privacy measures.
Knowledge of and ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with coworkers and clients.

Responsibilities

Conduct client rounds according to state protocols and document them appropriately.
Complete new-admission intake procedures according to program policies, including urine analysis, belongings searches, and paperwork.
Document clients’ daily progress in their charts.
Conduct room searches as needed or requested by management.
Administer detoxification protocols, including completing CIWA and COWS forms and conducting vital-sign rounds for detox clients.
Collect urine samples for testing.
Maintain the cleanliness of the property.
Transport clients in company vehicles to appointments, meetings, and outside activities.
Provide crisis intervention.
Assist, teach, or supervise clients with household chores, cleanliness, and food preparation, and clean up as required.
