About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician for its Fort Wayne location, a 100-bed residential facility that provides drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services. The technician supports medical and clinical teams with daily operations, engages with clients to foster a warm and accepting recovery environment, monitors safety, communicates incidents, and completes administrative duties. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team that provides compassionate, dignified care.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• Warm, compassionate, and empathetic personality.
• Dignified character that models recovery principles.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams, including admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, and phones.
• Engage with clients and build rapport to create a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce Avenues policies to help ensure the safety of clients and staff.
• Record and escalate critical communications and incidents in a timely manner.
• Complete administrative duties, including shift documentation, inventory, meetings, and office support.
