About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician to provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams at its Fort Wayne residential facility. The role supports admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, phones, and other facility needs. Behavioral Health Technicians engage with clients, build rapport, and help foster a warm, accepting recovery environment while monitoring clients and enforcing policies to support the safety of clients and staff. The position also includes recording and escalating critical communications or incidents and completing administrative tasks such as shift documentation, inventory, meetings, and office support.

Avenues Recovery Center at Fort Wayne is a 100-bed residential facility providing drug and alcohol detox and inpatient rehabilitation services. Its multidisciplinary staff includes therapists, clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, group facilitators, and behavioral health technicians, who provide compassionate, dignified care.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and multitasking skills.
• Warm, compassionate, and empathetic personality.
• Dignified character that models recovery principles.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• If in recovery, at least one year of sustained sobriety is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support to medical and clinical teams, including admissions, transportation, meals, medication, supervision, and phones.
• Engage with clients and build rapport to create a warm, accepting recovery environment.
• Monitor clients and enforce Avenues policies to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
• Record and promptly escalate critical communications and incidents.
• Complete administrative duties, including shift documentation, inventory, meetings, and office support.
