About The Position
New Horizon Community Care is hiring Behavioral Health Technicians to support youth and adults through structured therapeutic programs. The role works across Direct Services, the CHOICE Day Program, and Therapeutic Recreation. Direct Services provides individualized support, including family support, life skills, wellness, and behavior modification. CHOICE is a structured therapeutic day program involving group work, skill-building, and distance-learning academic support. Therapeutic Recreation is an after-school program using movement, recreation, art, and CBT-based activities to build resilience and confidence. All positions are safety-sensitive and part of a drug-free workplace. The company prohibits alcohol and drug-related activity on company premises and vehicles, and on personal vehicles used for company business or parked on company property.
Requirements
- Meet state licensing requirements for Behavioral Health Technicians or Para Professionals.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Hold a valid Arizona driver's license and have an insurable driving record.
- Be able to obtain an unrestricted Arizona DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Have experience with at-risk youth or behavioral health populations.
- Have strong communication and documentation skills.
- Be able to manage group dynamics.
- Be comfortable working in structured environments.
- Be willing to learn crisis intervention.
Responsibilities
- Supervise clients and ensure their safety.
- Facilitate groups, activities, and skill-building sessions.
- Support treatment goals and behavior plans.
- Assist with documentation and case coordination.
- Provide crisis intervention when needed.
- Support academics in the CHOICE program.
- Participate in recreation and movement-based activities in Therapeutic Recreation.
- Collaborate with clinical and program teams.
