About The Position

Northside Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech to provide direct patient care and supportive services to patients with mental health disorders and chemically dependent patients. The role helps ensure patient safety and well-being and supports a therapeutic milieu by meeting patients’ comfort and safety needs. The Behavioral Health Tech may also perform the duties and responsibilities of an Emergency Department Technician. This is a part-time, night-shift role working two 12-hour shifts, with stated hours of 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; the posting also lists work hours as 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or another behavioral health-related field, plus one year of experience in a behavioral health field setting; alternatively, three years of experience in psychiatric settings in a clinical/direct patient care job.
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

• Patient care experience in a hospital or inpatient mental health facility.
