About The Position
Daymark Recovery Services, Inc. is a mission-driven community provider of culturally sensitive mental health and substance abuse services. Its mission is to inspire and empower people to seek and maintain recovery and health. The Mentor role at the Caiyalynn Burrell Child Crisis Center in Asheville supports short-term (5–7 day) treatment and stabilization for youth in crisis across Western North Carolina. Mentors provide support to children ages 6 through 17 as part of the treatment team, in a safe, child-friendly setting. All shifts are available. Pay is $18.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience providing behavioral health or crisis services to children.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree preferred.
- Experience with IDD preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing one-on-one support and mentoring to children recovering from crisis.
- Facilitate daily check-in and skill-development groups under the supervision of clinical staff.
- Lead daily recreational activities and meal times.
- Complete routine documentation regarding services provided and child observations.
- Assist medical, nursing, and clinical staff as needed.
