About The Position
Daymark Recovery Services, Inc. is a mission-driven community provider of culturally sensitive mental health and substance abuse services. Its mission is to inspire and empower people to seek and maintain recovery and health. The Mentor at the Caiyalynn Burrell Child Crisis Center in Asheville provides short-term (5–7 day) treatment and stabilization support to youth ages 6 through 17 who are in crisis across Western North Carolina. Mentors are an important part of the treatment team and support children in a safe, child-friendly setting. All shifts are available. The listed pay scale is $18.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience providing behavioral health or crisis services to children.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree preferred.
- Experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing one-on-one support and mentoring to children recovering from crisis.
- Facilitate daily check-in and skill-development groups under the supervision of clinical staff.
- Lead daily recreational activities and meal times.
- Complete routine documentation regarding services provided and child observations.
- Assist medical, nursing, and clinical staff as needed.
