About The Position

The Behavioral Health Tech (BHT) assists the RN or LPN with patient care and gathers information to support implementation of patient treatment and care plans. The BHT promotes patient and family safety and provides support and comfort to patients and families. The role also helps create and maintain a therapeutic environment, working in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Successful completion of CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute).
• Complete a Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Certification course within 90 days of hire and maintain it annually.

Nice To Haves

• BA/BS in psychology or a related degree.
• Two years of behavioral health experience with adult, psychiatric, or substance abuse inpatients.
