About The Position

This position involves collecting data and collaborating with RNs in the assessment of patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises. The role facilitates the implementation of nursing care plans to promote emotional well-being, monitors patient and environmental safety, and fosters a nurturing environment that encourages constructive patient interactions. Additionally, the position involves educating patients on interpersonal and self-care skills, assisting with activities of daily living, conducting age-appropriate psycho-educational groups, recognizing and reacting promptly to changes in patient conditions, and communicating observations and safety concerns to the multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing
  • Skills in patient assessment and care planning
  • Ability to monitor patient safety and environment of care
  • Proficiency in fostering a safe and nurturing environment
  • Competence in patient education on interpersonal and self-care skills
  • Ability to assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Experience conducting age-appropriate psycho-educational groups
  • Strong observational skills to recognize changes in patient conditions
  • Effective communication skills for reporting to a multidisciplinary team
