About The Position

The Behavioral Health Provider will conduct comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments. They will formulate accurate diagnoses using DSM and ICD-10 criteria, develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, and provide psychotherapy services. The role involves prescribing, monitoring, and managing psychotropic medications, collaborating with other healthcare professionals and community partners, and providing crisis intervention. Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and identifying barriers to recovery are key responsibilities. The provider will also educate patients and families and stay current with advancements in behavioral health practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited program in medicine, nursing, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Current, unrestricted license in the State of Oklahoma as a Physician (MD/DO), Physician Assistant, or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Maintain prescriptive authority in accordance with Oklahoma state regulations.
  • Practice within the defined scope of licensure.
  • Demonstrated experience providing behavioral health services across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
  • Knowledge of crisis assessment and intervention techniques.
  • Skilled in conducting clinical assessments.
  • Skilled in formulating accurate diagnoses utilizing DSM and ICD-10 criteria.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Working knowledge of CPT coding.
  • Proficiency in electronic documentation systems.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong clinical judgment.
  • Effective communication abilities.

  • Cultural sensitivity.
  • Sound problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and risk assessments for suicide, homicide, and other safety concerns.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses using DSM and ICD-10 criteria and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Provide psychotherapy services and other clinically appropriate interventions to individuals, families, and groups within their scope of practice.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with scope of practice and state guidelines.
  • Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and modify care plans as clinically indicated.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, behavioral health staff, case managers, and community partners to ensure coordinated, integrated care.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and appropriate referrals for higher levels of care when necessary.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medication management, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with federal, state, tribal, and ethical standards.
  • Identify barriers to recovery and assist patients in accessing supportive services, including community resources, support groups, inpatient treatment facilities, and vocational services.
  • Remain current with developments in behavioral health practices, regulations, and evidence-based treatment standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors within their scope of practice.
