This position is responsible for the daily operations, workforce management, quality oversight, and program implementation supporting behavioral health services across inpatient and outpatient pediatric specialty programs, including Hematology/Oncology and other pediatric medical subspecialties. Working in a highly matrixed environment, the supervisor partners with physician, nursing, operational, and administrative leaders to ensure behavioral health services are seamlessly integrated into interdisciplinary care delivery. The supervisor promotes excellence in patient- and family-centered care, advances equitable access to behavioral health services, and supports strategic initiatives that improve clinical outcomes, patient experience, workforce engagement, and operational performance. Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Services are part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Line at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals. The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Line brings together inpatient, outpatient, consultation-liaison, and integrated behavioral health programs to create a coordinated system of care that expands access, improves clinical outcomes, and advances the mental health and well-being of children, adolescents, and families across UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals. The IBH programs partner with pediatric medical and surgical specialty programs to provide integrated, family-centered behavioral health care for children, adolescents, and young adults with acute and chronic medical conditions. Mental health clinicians are embedded within inpatient and outpatient specialty services—including Primary Care and medical specialties—to address the psychological, emotional, developmental, and behavioral needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers, child life specialists, rehabilitation providers, and other interdisciplinary team members, the IBH program promotes early identification and intervention, improves access to behavioral health services, strengthens care coordination, and supports positive health outcomes.
