Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare administrative role, supporting billing processes.
  • Outstanding organizational capabilities with the ability to manage time and balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Customer service focus with strong ability to consistently provide outstanding
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to work collaboratively to support the team’s achievement of shared goals and outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Medical Billing, or related area
  • Previous experience in behavioral health or mental health services is preferred.
  • Knowledge of LEAN concepts and continuous quality improvement is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the client experience from initial intake process to discharge.
  • Supports all of Behavioral Health to ensure activities and initiatives maintain all relevant quality, regulatory, and legal standards.
  • Facilitates intake process with families, confirming and discussing insurance eligibility and benefits, and payment plan options for all Behavioral Health service departments (Beyond the Classroom, Family Peer Support, Therapeutic Foster Care, Parent Connext™, and Family Centered Treatment).
  • Researches eligibility for service coverage under Hamilton County and Warren/Clinton County Mental Health and Recovery Service Boards to ensure viability of indigent services.
  • Enrolls eligible clients in County Funding Sources including sliding scale fee.
  • Collaborates with Finance to address billing issues and/or payment processing, which includes following up with families on insurance eligibility issues.
  • Ensures billing systems are accurate and up to date in Next Gen, BA Intake, and/or RedCap.
  • Assists with updates to client records as necessary.
  • Supports reporting activities for assigned schools, including referral sources, persons served, demographics, etc.
  • Assists BH families in the completion of yearly paperwork per agency standard rules.
  • Drafts and sends communications to clients regarding non-compliance.
  • Assists our psychiatric staff with scheduling and processing initial intakes while also preparing Lebanon location once a week with Med/Som Services.
  • Works collaboratively with Quality Improvement to conduct periodic compliance and risk assessment audits and support process improvement activities.
  • Supports processes to implement best practices across Behavioral Health services.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement initiatives to develop and refine efficient intake and processes.
  • Works collaboratively and cross-functionally as a Behavioral Health team member to ensure the holistic needs of children and families are met.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, provided such duties are reasonably related to the essential functions of the position and do not conflict with applicable laws or organizational policies.
