About The Position

The Behavioral Health Manager will be responsible for clinical coordination and leadership of behavioral health and substance abuse including: development, implementation, and supervision of behavioral health clinical guidelines and clinical consultation of behavioral health conditions, management of provider incentive quality programming, and quality assurance management for the provision of clinical services for behavioral health. The manager will also be responsible for behavioral health grant management, coordination of academic partnerships, and provide guidance to the Chemical Dependency Program.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling from an accredited University.
  • Two to three years of experience of clinical behavioral health experience as licensed independent practitioner.
  • Two to five years of demonstrated experience in the clinical social work practice arena and the ability to work and collaborate on a healthcare team.
  • Two to five years of demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently handle a demanding workload involving multiple tasks.
  • Two to three years EMR experience required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Business Applications to include: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Constantly communicates with executive and medical leadership, directors and auxiliary staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Current and valid driver’s licenses.
  • Active and current license in the State of Illinois as LCSW or LCPC or other related Behavioral Health license in the State of Illinois.
  • A minimum of one year clinical behavioral health experience as a licensed independent practitioner
  • Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain 0.5 FTE patient care hours per week at designated site as determined by the Director of Behavioral Health and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Follow PCC’s policies for scheduling, access, chart documentation and availability for communication regarding clinical matters during regular business hours.
  • Maintain 0.5 FTE indirect patient coordination hours where the position will be responsible for administration and supervision of behavioral health department, including the taking of behavioral health after hours call.
  • Provide consultation and academic support to residents and attending physicians in the areas of behavioral health medicine.
  • Provide mental health and substance abuse consultation regarding assessment and mental/behavioral health and substance abuse treatment options to established patients.
  • Assess patients’ and/or families’ bio-psycho-social situations that result in diagnostic conclusions that include development challenges, family dynamics and stressors, and a DSM V diagnosis.
  • Document data, assessment, treatment plan and expected outcome in medical record.
  • Identify and follow-up on all referrals you have made to assure continuity of care and patient/family needs are met.
  • Perform any crisis intervention, individual counseling, family counseling, advocacy that is needed for the patient.
  • Participate fully in relevant quality assurance and performance improvement measures.
  • Manage monthly quality meetings and action steps related to the mental health and substance abuse, including facilitating and participating in monthly individual and group consultation.
  • Manage academic partnerships with schools of social work and schools of nursing for psychiatric nurse practitioners.
