About The Position
The Behavioral Health LPN, internally referred to as an LPN or LVN, works in the Adult Psych Acute unit at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama. The role provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with patient care. This is a per-diem position with night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Requirements
- Current and valid Alabama state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in an applicable setting.
- IV certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care requiring technical and manual skills within the scope of practice, addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care.
- Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
- Perform duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide CPR and patient care; update documentation; handle specimens and wound care; and take vital signs.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and assist with patient care.
