About The Position
The Behavioral Health LPN/LVN works in the Adult Psych Acute unit at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama. The LPN/LVN provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with patient care. The position is per diem and works nights in 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Requirements
- Current and valid Alabama state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in an applicable setting, preferred.
- IV certification upon hire, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care using technical and manual skills within the scope of practice, meeting patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs.
- Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
- Perform duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide CPR and patient care; update documentation; handle specimens; provide wound care; and take vital signs.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and assist with patient care.
