About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills within the scope of practice. Care addresses patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general needs and supports communication with patients and their families. The position works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and demonstrates knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the triage process in the emergency room setting.
Requirements
- Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the triage process in the ER setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care within the scope of practice.
- Address patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care.
- Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
- Work under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrate knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the emergency room triage process.
