About The Position

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a full-time Direct Care Technician for its Adolescent Residential Home in Aberdeen, North Carolina. The position provides and maintains a therapeutic, safe group environment and attends to clients’ welfare and basic needs. The technician provides informal counseling using behavioral techniques, reality therapy, supportive encouragement, and socialization skills. The role also involves facilitating and participating in group activities, accompanying clients to NA/AA meetings and community outings, providing transportation, and helping clients develop life skills to support their recovery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Maintain a valid state-appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles used for work.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or technical savvy.

Nice To Haves

• One year of relevant experience in substance disorders or working with youth.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a therapeutic and safe group environment.
