Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee. Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. This role involves performing a combination of behavioral health clinical responsibilities, with a primary focus on therapy for children, youth, and adults. The clinician will provide therapy to individuals and groups, promoting optimum mental health and wellness, and will be responsible for conducting enrollment assessments as needed. The position will help individuals deal with complex and comorbid diagnoses which may include: serious persistent mental health illness, addictions and substance abuse; family, parenting, marital problems and challenges with social determinants of health; suicide; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with aging, physical, mental and emotional health.
