About The Position

In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the Inpatient Behavioral Health Clinician II is responsible for completing psychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, and monitoring patient progress towards treatment goals. This role involves facilitating family meetings, group therapy, and brief individual therapy when indicated. The clinician serves as a primary educator on topics of mental illness/mental health to patients and/or their family members and initiates coordination for discharge and aftercare services.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed as an LCSW-C or LCPC in the state of Maryland
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience working with individuals with chronic mental illness
  • Knowledge/skills of behavioral health clinical work in a variety of settings
  • Ability to complete psychosocial assessments
  • Ability to provide group and individual psychotherapy
  • Ability to develop and implement discharge and aftercare plans
  • Ability to coordinate services for patient/family with community providers including knowledge of community resources, Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurances
  • Effective critical thinking skills
  • Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and manage time effectively to complete duties
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both internal and external customers (colleagues, Medical Staff, liaisons, and patient/family)
  • Ability to assess, adapt, and calmly respond to changing and/or crisis environment
  • Ability to make independent decisions consistent with current policies, procedures, health care and ethical standards
  • Ability to adapt hours to meet the needs of all customers and department
