About The Position
FirstSteps for Kids is seeking a Behavior Technician to work one-on-one with young children diagnosed with autism and related learning differences. The role involves helping children develop essential communication, play, and everyday-life skills. Requirements
- Patient, dependable, and enjoy working with children.
- Valid driver's license.
- Access to a vehicle and insurance.
- Comfortable getting on the floor to play and moving quickly when needed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with children through work, school, or volunteering.
- Backgrounds in Childcare, Preschool or daycare, Teaching or education, Camp counseling or coaching, Psychology, Special education, or Social work, Nursing or home health care, or other child-focused or helping professions.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with young children with autism to help them learn communication, play, and everyday-life skills.
- Implement evidence-based, behavior analytic treatment.
- Document progress and collect data on client performance.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure effective treatment delivery.
- Engage children in play and learning activities, getting on the floor as needed.
- Adapt to moving quickly when necessary to support the child's needs.
