About The Position

The Behavior & Student Support Facilitator serves as a critical bridge between administration, teachers, and students. The primary goal of this role is to identify the root causes of behavioral challenges and implement proactive, research-based strategies that keep students in the classroom and on track for graduation. This role prioritizes restorative justice, social-emotional learning, and the development of self-regulation skills. This position would also work with the attendance office.

Requirements

  • Strength: Sedentary/Medium - Exert force 10-25 lbs., frequently; and up to 10 lbs., constantly; or a negligible amount of force to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. Note: Individuals may be required to assist in the lift of a student greater than 50 lbs.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching, handling, and repetitive fine motor activities.
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
  • Vision: Frequent near acuity and occasional far acuity.
  • Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment.
  • Vision to read printed materials or other monitoring devices.

Responsibilities

  • Implement behavior intervention plans as directed by the EC Case manager, Behavior Team or School administration.
  • Provide immediate de-escalation support for students in crisis, utilizing trauma-informed care techniques.
  • Facilitate restorative circles and mediation sessions to resolve peer-to-peer or student-teacher conflicts.
  • Monitor student behavior data (PowerSchool/Educator’s Handbook) to identify "at-risk" trends and intervene before issues escalate.
  • Serve as a resource for classroom teachers and tiered interventions (MTSS).
  • Collaborate with the MTSS/PBIS team to promote a positive school climate.
  • Under the direction of leadership, support teacher understanding of specific student behaviors to improve the teacher-student relationship.
  • Maintain accurate logs of student interactions, progress monitoring, and the effectiveness of specific interventions.
  • Coordinate with the School Resource Officer and School Social Worker when external community resources are needed.
  • Collaborate with the school data manager, counseling staff and/ or school administration to support student attendance and prevent absenteeism.
  • Lead small-group sessions on topics such as anger management, conflict resolution, and social skills.
  • Participate in reentry meetings when students return from out of school suspensions.
  • Advocate for a "Restorative First" approach to discipline, focusing on harm reduction and relationship repair.
  • Help with the monitoring of Metal Detectors during transitions.
