Behavior Specialist - School Services - San Anselmo
About The Position
This is an entry-level position that serves as the first step in a mapped-out career journey toward a degree, promotion, and leadership. The role involves using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help children build communication, social, and life skills in a school environment. The Behavior Specialist will bring energy and compassion to each session, follow personalized plans designed by clinical leaders, and celebrate client progress. The role is flexible, dynamic, and requires no prior experience as training and support will be provided. The goal is to help children achieve life-changing milestones, provide hope and relief to families through observed progress, and support the professional growth of the Behavior Specialist through paid training, coaching, and career milestones.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Availability: Monday-Friday, 8:00-3:30 pm
- Current CPR certification preferred
- Proof of vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, COVID – CA mandated)
- Reliable transportation
- Comfort working with diverse populations
- Ability to frequently sit and stand; keeping pace with your client
- Constant visual stimulation, including close vision, distance vision, reading, computer work
- Constant sitting; frequent up and down out of chair
- Constant use of telephone, speaking, listening
- Constant document handling, use of copier and fax machine, filing
- Frequent typing, use of computer
- Occasional walking around building
- Occasional bending, reaching, stooping, pulling
- Occasional lifting, carrying, moving of items up to 20 pounds
- Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting and using upper and lower limbs to drive car
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months' experience working with special needs in a school or related setting preferred.
