About The Position

This role is an entry-level position that serves as the first step in a career path with opportunities for growth, including obtaining a degree, promotions, and leadership roles. The position focuses on helping children develop communication, social, and life skills within a school environment using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles. The Behavior Specialist will work with children in schools, homes, or centers, following personalized plans developed by clinical leaders. The role offers a flexible, dynamic schedule with no two days being the same. Prior experience is not required as comprehensive training and support will be provided. The position emphasizes making a difference in children's lives and supporting their growth, while also offering opportunities for the employee's professional development.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Availability: Monday-Friday, 8:00-3:30 pm
  • At least 6 months' experience working with special needs in a school or related setting preferred.
  • Current CPR certification preferred
  • Proof of vaccinations (MMR, Varicella)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Comfort working with diverse populations
  • Willingness to complete training and documentation
  • Ability to frequently sit and stand; keeping pace with your client
  • Constant visual stimulation, including close vision, distance vision, reading, computer work
  • Constant sitting; frequent up and down out of chair
  • Constant use of telephone, speaking, listening
  • Constant document handling, use of copier and fax machine, filing
  • Frequent typing, use of computer
  • Occasional walking around building
  • Occasional bending, reaching, stooping, pulling
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, moving of items up to 20 pounds
  • Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting and using upper and lower limbs to drive car

Nice To Haves
