About The Position
The purpose of the position is to build capacity of school staff to implement a variety positive behavior intervention strategies to support the emotional, social, and behavioral needs of students.
Requirements
- Virginia teaching license preferred
- minimum of three years successful teaching experience
- special education classroom experience preferred
- thorough knowledge of instructional methods, strategies, and practices that support the educational needs of students struggling with behavior challenges
- knowledge of special education regulations
- qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working with professional colleagues, students, and parents
- ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- enrolled or plan to enroll in a program that is approved by the BACB and meets the instructional requirements for eligibility to sit for the Behavior Analysis Certification Board exam within 3 years of accepting the position.
