About The Position

Easterseals Southern California is hiring Behavior Interventionists to provide in-home, ABA-based therapy sessions to children on the autism spectrum and their families. The role offers ongoing training and clearly defined career paths, and is suited to people interested in autism, behavioral therapy, and working with children. The main working hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Candidates must be available to work at least 15 hours per week within this schedule. The initial training schedule lasts two weeks, Monday through Friday, for approximately 35 hours. Pay is listed as $24.00–$27.50; no pay period is specified. The work involves home visits and requires lifting, carrying, and loading or unloading toys and materials. It also involves frequent walking, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting to observe, assess, and interact with participants.

Requirements

Passion for working with children.
Previous experience working with children or people with special needs, and an interest in behavioral health.
Availability to work at least 15 hours per week during the stated working hours: Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Availability for the initial two-week training schedule, Monday through Friday, approximately 35 hours.
Own reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance.
Proof of immunization records and TB.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Ability to lift, carry, and load or unload toys and materials, and to walk, bend, reach, squat, kneel, and twist frequently.
