The Behavior Clinician II serves on Dungarvin’s Adapted Dialectical Behavior Therapy (A-DBT) team, supporting adults with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health conditions. Services are provided in individuals’ homes and communities, and individuals typically have multiple diagnoses and significant challenging behaviors. The clinician provides assessment, clinical support, and consultation tailored to each individual’s skills and needs, using A-DBT principles. The work includes running A-DBT groups, leading social events, identifying environmental challenges, developing support plans that build positive behaviors and social skills, and training and modeling practices for direct care staff. The clinician may also train and supervise Clinicians I and relevant operations staff in developing support plans, measurable goals, and data collection. The role maintains a caseload under the supervision of the Clinical Services Manager and implements treatment according to the clinician’s discipline, such as ABA, CBT, or DBT, and as designated by the funding source.
