About The Position

This role is designed for individuals actively pursuing their BCBA certification and accruing practicum hours. It offers paid unrestricted hours and prepares individuals for success as a BCBA upon completion of their studies and exams. The role is part of the new Apex Program, which provides enhanced programming, community building, and support for practicum students within 6-9 months of their BCBA exam eligibility. The position reports to the Local Clinical Trainer (BCBA) at the specific clinic.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s program for ABA.
  • Must be within approximately 400-600 hours (or less) of completing all practicum hours to be eligible to sit for the BCBA Exam.
  • Demonstrate excellent skills in building rapport and trust with families as a behavior therapist.
  • Demonstrate emerging skills in case conceptualization and client programming and planning.
  • Demonstrate emerging skills in coaching and supervising RBTs to implement ESDM therapy.
  • Desire to learn and grow and accept feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a case supervisor for 3-5 client cases, providing 20 paid unrestricted hours per week and learning key BCBA skills.
  • Update client goals and programming using an electronic data collection platform.
  • Provide direct supervision to a team of RBTs.
  • Participate in ESDM specific trainings to enhance clinical skills.
  • Write Behavior Intervention Plans using the Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill Based Treatment (SBT).
  • Meet with families to conduct Family Treatment Guidance meetings and provide support using Soar’s in-house curriculum.
  • Conduct and write assessment reports for new clients and re-assessments, including training on the Vineland, QABF, FAST, and the ESDM Curriculum Checklist.
  • Receive coaching and feedback from the Partner Clinician and other BCBAs.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings with Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Psychologists as part of the Soar integrated care team.
  • Conduct direct client therapy for 10-20 hours per week, based on center needs and program progress.
