About The Position

Sylvan Learning Center is hiring a part-time Beginning Reading teacher to teach pre-K through second-grade students. The role uses a 3:1 student-to-teacher ratio, pre-planned lessons, proven educator-developed methods, and school-approved materials. Teachers motivate students to achieve academic excellence and provide input on each student’s progress. The center provides extensive paid training and career advancement opportunities. Teachers provide their availability, which is matched with the center’s scheduling needs. Instruction is offered afternoons except Fridays and on Saturday mornings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Teaching credential.
• Experience and expertise teaching early literacy.
• At least one year of teaching experience.

Responsibilities
