About The Position

AlphaBEST Education is hiring for its Before and After School Programs for the 2026/2027 school year at Berlin Community School. The programs offer extended-day, summer, and enrichment experiences intended to inspire and engage students in a fun, safe environment. The role provides hands-on experience working with children and collaborating with a team, and is suitable for people exploring education, leadership, or related fields.

The schedule is 7:00–8:30 a.m. and 3:00–6:00 p.m. The pay is $21.00 per hour. The position involves leading students through daily curriculum activities, maintaining a safe and organized space, and supporting an inclusive environment for children.

Requirements

• High school diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain them.
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Enjoy working with children in a structured, high-energy environment.
• Take child safety seriously and follow procedures closely.
• Be flexible, reliable, and ready to help wherever needed.

• The role is ideal for students studying Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, Recreation, or Youth Development.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities, including World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts.
• Make child safety the top priority and follow procedures closely.
• Keep the space clean and organized.
• Help create an environment where children feel supported and included.
• Build strong relationships with teammates, children, families, and school staff.
