About The Position

National Beef is seeking college students interested in a career in beef production to join its summer 2027 Beef Operations Internship. This paid, safety-sensitive, on-site internship lasts 10–12 weeks and is offered at facilities in Liberal, Kansas; Dodge City, Kansas; and Tama, Iowa. A housing allowance is included where required. Interns gain hands-on experience in process management, critical thinking, operational planning for customer fulfillment, and ground beef formulation in a state-of-the-art facility. The program introduces interns to National Beef’s company culture, work practices, and department processing practices from start to finish. Interns spend time on the production floor in harvest and fabrication, contribute to projects addressing real business needs, and collaborate with the Operations Team. They also have opportunities to network with facility senior leadership. Interns prepare detailed reports for senior management and key department heads that summarize insights and experiences from the program, and deliver a presentation to the same leadership group at the end of the internship.
