About The Position

Big Think+ is seeking a BDR Team Manager to lead a team of five Business Development Representatives based in the New York City area. This team is responsible for executing tailored cold outreach campaigns via email, phone, and LinkedIn to schedule sales meetings with senior Learning & Development executives. The role involves overseeing the daily coaching, performance, and pipeline strategy of the team, collaborating with Demand Generation and Marketing leadership to convert outbound activity into qualified pipeline. This is a high-visibility position for an individual aiming to establish a scalable, repeatable outbound engine and foster the development of future sales talent. The role is hybrid, requiring regular in-person collaboration at a WeWork office in the New York City area at least three times a week.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience directly managing an outbound, B2B BDR team, including experience with messaging development, hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • 2+ years of hands-on cold outreach experience utilizing cold calling, email, and LinkedIn tactics.
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding team goals.
  • Strong coaching abilities and a solutions-oriented mindset, with the capacity to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.
  • Proficiency with CRM and sales engagement tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Residency in the New York City area, with the ability to commute to the WeWork space at least 3 times per week for a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of five BDRs, conducting regular 1:1s, mock calls, email reviews, team training, and pipeline reviews to enhance messaging, technique, and productivity.
  • Achieve team-level meeting targets, and develop, test, and refine outbound cadences (cold email, cold calling, LinkedIn, video) aimed at L&D executives.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and ramp new BDRs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align outbound strategy with target accounts, campaigns, and ideal customer profile.
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, call scripts, email sequences, and objection-handling frameworks, continuously iterating based on insights into L&D buyer engagement.
  • Track and report on team KPIs, including activity volume, connect rates, meetings booked, and pipeline generated.
  • Utilize CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Nooks) for funnel management and identifying coaching opportunities.
  • Identify root causes of underperformance and proactively implement solutions for course correction.
  • Foster a high-energy, high-accountability team culture that motivates reps and supports their growth in a demanding cold-outreach environment.
