About The Position

Interstate Brick is hiring a BCP Machine Operator in Clay. Under the supervision of the Yard Services Supervisor, the position operates a mason saw machine and ensures it cuts properly. The operator supports and demonstrates the company’s Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation, and Financial Success, and performs other related duties as assigned. This is a regular, full-time position. The work takes place in a plant environment with loud noise, moving machinery, moving belts and equipment, dust, dirt, wet conditions, outdoor weather, and extreme temperatures. Mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn.

Requirements

Attention to detail.
On-the-job training is required to perform the duties.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers, customers, and superiors.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Predictable and regular attendance.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen; and stand, walk, and sit.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for five or more hours per day.
Wear mandatory and/or other appropriate personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Cut brick according to supervisor instructions.
Check saw measurements and cut a sample brick before beginning a run.
Re-check saw measurements every two hours to ensure they remain correct.
Clean the saw, saw pans of bricks, and chips.
Stack cut brick on pallets.
Assist with banding and bagging operations when necessary.
Maintain the work area according to company cleanliness and safety specifications.
Attend safety meetings, follow company and governmental safety rules, and ensure hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
Maintain predictable and regular attendance, and work overtime and weekends as needed.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company or its designated representative.
