About The Position

Interstate Brick is a commercial brick manufacturer established in 1891 and part of the Pacific Coast Building Products family since 1990. The BCP Machine Operator works under the supervision of the Yard Services Supervisor. The role operates a mason saw, checks that it is cutting properly, and supports the company’s Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation, and Financial Success. The position also performs other related duties as assigned. It is a regular, full-time position with competitive compensation and full benefits.

Requirements

Attention to detail.
On-the-job training is required to perform the duties.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers, customers, and superiors.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Predictable and regular attendance.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for five or more hours per day.

Responsibilities

Cut brick according to the supervisor’s instructions.
Check that the saw has the correct measurement and cut a sample brick before beginning a run.
Re-check the saw every two hours to ensure the measurement remains correct.
Clean the saw, saw pans of bricks, and chips.
Stack cut brick on pallets.
Assist with banding and bagging operations when necessary.
Maintain the work area according to company cleanliness and safety specifications.
Attend safety meetings, follow company and regulatory safety rules, and ensure hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company or its designated representative.
Maintain predictable and regular attendance and work overtime and weekends as needed.
