About The Position

Benhaven Children's Behavioral Services (CBS) is seeking a BCBA to join their team. Benhaven is a non-profit organization serving the Greater New Haven area with a clinic in Wallingford, established in 1967, offering services across the lifespan for people with Autism. CBS is the behavior analytic program that provides center-based, school, home, and community services. This is a full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week exempt position, with flexibility for afternoon, evening, and weekends as needed. The Children’s Behavioral Services (CBS) BCBA will report directly to the CBS Division Director. This position is accountable for providing professional clinical services to individuals with autism and/or I/DD who demonstrate an emotional, behavioral, or mental health issue that results in independence at their own home or with their family. In addition, this position will work in collaboration with the CBS team, being an active team member, and supporting a positive culture and a strong team approach.

Requirements

  • Current BCBA certification
  • CT State License
  • BACB Supervisor’s Certification
  • Master's Degree in ABA or related field, i.e., Special Ed., Child Psych, etc.
  • Familiarity and ability to administer and interpret a variety of clinical assessments (such as VBMAPP, AFLS, ABLLS, etc.)
  • Display excellent clinical competence and judgment; ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to train and supervise behavior technicians in the delivery of 1:1 ABA services
  • Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with parents and other caregivers
  • Respect for cultural diversity and the capability of adapting ABA procedures to that diversity
  • Ability to plan and schedule time independently
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; detail-oriented
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities.
  • Willingness to accept supervision and guidance, & remedy any identified deficits or weaknesses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial and/or continuing in-home client (re)assessments
  • Independently and competently write FBA’s and BIP’s in a specified time frame
  • Create programming appropriate to the client’s need for behavior replacement and skill building.
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate assigned staff efforts to properly address behavioral excesses and deficits
  • Supervise ongoing ABA programs, assess performance of programs, and adjust as necessary
  • Provide ABA training for parents and other caregivers
  • Assume overall direction and supervision of behavior technicians
  • Manage electronic data regarding the client’s progress using BipTrack and Central Reach
  • Submit reports and other communications in a timely, complete, and accurate manner
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Be familiar with and abide by all BACB documents, including but not limited to the BACB Ethics Guidelines
