About The Position

This is a 12-month position specializing in evidence-based behavior change for students with disabilities. The BCBA will impact the individuals they are working with by unlocking their full potential on a daily basis. The role involves working with children with special needs as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a strengths-based approach, emphasizing applied behavior analysis and positive behavior supports.

Requirements

  • Masters’ or Doctoral degree in psychology, special education or related field.
  • Board Certification in Behavior Analysis or eligible to sit for exam.
  • Prior experience working with students with special needs.
  • Prior experience writing FBAs, BSPs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct assistance to educational staff, administrators, behaviorists, students and parents in the areas of behavior change using Applied Behavior Analysis and addressing challenging behaviors of students attending Devereux schools.
  • Provide individual and group trainings; conduct and support functional behavior assessments and analyses; develop positive behavior support plans; ensure fidelity of implementation of behavior plans.
  • Advise behaviorists, teachers and administrators regarding best practices and regulations.
  • Work as a collaborative consultant with school and agency personnel; provides expertise regarding behavior modification in complex cases; participates in IEP meetings; and becomes a member of the PDE behavior intervention committee.
  • Provide services and documents that are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations for school based services.
  • Services and documents are based on best practices within Applied Behavior Analysis, research validated methods, and PDE supported procedures and materials.
