FirstSteps for Kids, Inc.•Walnut Creek, CA
•$85,000 - $95,000•Onsite

About The Position

FirstSteps is a privately owned, clinician-led ABA organization with a center in Walnut Creek. They are inspired by the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential and aim to provide the best evidence-based, behavior analytic treatment to children diagnosed with autism and related learning differences. They also strive to offer a positive, collaborative, and dynamic work experience for their team, with a steadfast commitment to ongoing training and mentorship to support the next generation of clinical leaders. The organization emphasizes staying close to the work, with Program Directors typically supporting 12-14 children and leading clinical teams of 7-12 RBTs. This structure allows BCBAs to know their clients and families, observe and coach their team in real-time, make individualized clinical decisions, collaborate with external stakeholders, mentor developing clinicians, and work alongside experienced clinical leaders. The role offers clear expectations and clinical autonomy, with a full-time BCBA having a 115 billable-hour monthly expectation and additional incentive opportunities. The company culture emphasizes thoughtful supervision, strong relationships, clinical mentorship, and a team that genuinely cares about doing good work, avoiding oversized caseloads, telehealth-heavy supervision, pressure to rush decisions, and one-size-fits-all treatment.
