About The Position

The Center Director (CD) is responsible for the complete oversight and management of the ABA center, ensuring the safe, ethical, and professional delivery of early intervention behavior therapy to clients. The CD manages a reduced caseload alongside their supervisory responsibilities and reports directly to the Regional Director.

Requirements

  • Masters’ Degree in ABA, Special Education, or another related field.
  • Current BCBA certification and LBA license.
  • Current CPR/AED and/or BLS certification.
  • Mastery knowledge of ABA science and techniques required of a BCBA, including assessments, treatment plans, supervision, de-escalation, and titration.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a practicing BCBA.
  • At least one year of experience with early intervention (managing client cases who are working on acquiring early learner skills including functional communication, play and adaptive skills) with children with autism.

Responsibilities

  • Create personalized treatment plans for early learners with measurable goals in accordance with the Thrive Behavior Centers Treatment Model.
  • Determine treatment goals based on a comprehensive analysis of the client’s needs, including medical necessity, parent information, evaluations, and behavior analytic assessments.
  • Implement TBC Clinical Policies and Procedures to ensure effective therapy and client progress.
  • Develop skill acquisition goals using evidence-based ABA techniques and strategies.
  • Develop a function-based Behavior Intervention Plan for the reduction of maladaptive behaviors and skill acquisition targets.
  • Create parent training goals that teach core ABA principles and practical application.
  • Use appropriate assessment tools (VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, PEAK, FBA, etc.) to evaluate client skill level and progress.
  • Provide ongoing and responsive case management.
  • Appropriately supervise clients in session with Behavior Technicians (BTs) to ensure client progress and assess intervention effectiveness.
  • Add, modify, and update client goals, protocols, and programs based on client response.
  • Ensure the client is in the least restrictive learning environment.
  • Provide thorough, timely program modifications, progress updates, and insurance authorization reports.
  • Provide direct ABA therapy to clients as needed.
  • Assist clients with physical needs and personal care, including lifting (up to 50 lbs.), positioning, feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities while providing effective training and learning opportunities for employees.
  • Provide effective training and supervision for Behavior Technicians, Behavior Analyst Interns, and other employees.
  • Assess initial and ongoing competency in therapeutic skills, client engagement, and session activities.
  • Provide supervision and learning opportunities for Behavior Analyst Interns pursuing BCBA certification.
  • Provide practical and compassionate parent education and training.
  • Communicate effectively to support client and family needs.
  • Provide regular parent training and education sessions.
  • Use Behavior Skills Training techniques to teach ABA strategies and techniques.
  • Create goals for parents to increase client independence and generalization.
  • Demonstrate understanding of initial and ongoing authorization requirements of clients’ funders.
  • Demonstrate fluency in the use of Central Reach Clinical Management Software.
  • Model behaviors consistent with the mission and core values of Thrive Behavior Centers and the BACB ethical code.
  • Manage the clinical schedule to ensure optimal clinical outcomes, including tracking and evaluating usage of client billable hours.
  • Track, evaluate, and maximize supervision of behavior technicians.
  • Track and evaluate client progress to determine strategies that maximize skill acquisition, generalization, and maintenance.
  • Support the Chief Clinical Officer and leadership team by completing assigned tasks.
  • Effectively lead the center to ensure client and employee wellbeing.
  • Oversee, evaluate, and optimize clinical staff morale, performance, retention, and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and/or oversee the development of regular, relevant, and effective ABA employee training.
  • Implement regularly scheduled clinical competency assessments and performance reviews.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of employee performance management.
  • Identify and mentor staff members with potential for growth.
  • Model and promote teamwork, effective communication, and feedback.
  • Address interpersonal challenges between staff members quickly and efficiently.
  • Identify and utilize opportunities to obtain feedback from staff regarding center morale and clinical support.
  • Ensure all certified clinical staff are appropriately supervised.
  • Ensure all Behavior Technicians receive appropriate supervision and competency assessments.
  • Ensure Behavior Analyst Interns receive appropriate learning opportunities, supervision, and guidance.
  • Oversee Clinical Supervisors to ensure clients receive personalized, effective, developmentally appropriate ABA therapy.
  • Ensure all client authorization reports are completed to TBC standards and submitted on time.
  • Evaluate clinical progress via regular assessment of Clinical Supervisor’s analysis in authorization reports.
  • Evaluate Clinical Supervisor’s reports regarding utilization of billable hours and other resources.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and operations team to ensure smooth functioning of the center.
  • Utilize center resources effectively and remain within budget constraints.
  • Follow all TBC Operational Policies and Procedures.
  • Complete any additional assigned tasks as directed.
