About The Position

Marc's Auto Service, located on Cranberry Hwy in Wareham, MA, is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Light Service Technician / Battery Service Technician to join their growing team. This role involves providing roadside assistance and light automotive services, diagnosing battery, charging, and starting system issues, and performing battery replacements. The ideal candidate will be motivated, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be committed to delivering excellent customer service in a supportive, family-owned business environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.
  • Knowledge of battery, charging, and starting systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to lift and install automotive batteries and perform roadside services in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive repair or electrical diagnostic experience preferred.
  • Automotive technician or light service experience.
  • Battery testing and replacement.
  • Electrical system diagnostics.
  • Tire service.
  • Roadside assistance experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right candidate!

Responsibilities

  • Responding promptly and professionally to customer roadside assistance requests.
  • Diagnosing battery, charging, and starting system issues using professional testing equipment.
  • Testing, replacing, and installing automotive batteries.
  • Performing jump starts, battery terminal maintenance, and light roadside mechanical repairs.
  • Assisting with flat tire changes, spare tire installations, and vehicle lockouts.
  • Clearly explaining diagnostic results and repair recommendations to customers.
  • Determining when towing or additional repairs are required.
  • Maintaining accurate service records, invoices, and inventory.
  • Keeping the assigned service vehicle clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service on every call.
