About The Position

We are seeking a Founding Battery Engineer to lead cell development from lab-scale experiments through prototype validation. This role involves designing, executing, and analyzing experiments across electrodes, electrolytes, and full cells. You will also establish and scale new R&D capabilities, including equipment, workflows, and SOPs, and translate experimental data into actionable insights and development decisions.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in slurry preparation, electrode casting, and process optimization (doctor blade, slot-die coating)
• Proven experience in cell prototyping, including coin and pouch cells, and systematic component de-risking
• Strong background in electrolyte optimization, including rational formulation design and familiarity with screening, characterization, and testing methodologies
• Expertise in cell data analysis and data aggregation to drive evidence-based decision-making
• Experience in setting up new development facilities, installing equipment, and defining lab workflows and SOPs
• Passionate battery technologist with strong intrinsic motivation and ambition
• Ownership-driven mindset; comfortable taking responsibility for end-to-end processes
• Fast learner who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments
• Execution focus; able to manage multiple priorities and deliver measurable results on short timelines

Nice To Haves

• Experience with scale-up beyond lab scale and contract manufacturing
• Prior experience in a fast-paced startup or early-stage R&D environment
• Professional proficiency in Korean
• Track record of grant or scientific publication writing; prior success in securing funding
