About The Position

Operate batch equipment to process customer parts in accordance with shop order specifications and instructions from management, providing maximum production consistent with acceptable quality; set and monitor process parameters to ensure that cycles are loaded and unloaded in a timely manner to meet scheduling and productivity requirements.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Six months experience in a similar or related position.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, this includes THC.
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
  • 3+ months of experience of similar or related experience.
  • Must have basic understanding of computer systems and be familiar with the operations of basic programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, and the Internet).

Responsibilities

  • Transfer, check in, check out and weigh work moving in or out of the department.
  • Prepare, wash, load, unload and inspect parts for heat-treating.
  • Monitor and adjust controls on furnace equipment based on work order specifications.
  • Set up new or special jobs.
  • Unpack and re-pack finished parts in customer containers for shipment.
  • Ensure necessary information on logs, shop orders, furnace charts, etc. is being completed correctly.
  • Operate forklift and material handling equipment to transport material.
  • Start up and shut down equipment and perform tests, minor repairs, routine maintenance, and adjustments to equipment as required.
  • Report discrepancies to supervisors and/or maintenance department.
  • Monitor batch helpers to ensure baskets are loaded and unloaded correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in making a schedule that accommodates customer needs.
  • Assist others in resolving quantity, shop order and heat-treating discrepancies.
  • Prepare samples and ensure that proper random in-process and final inspection samples are used for inspection.
  • Run carbon shims to determine furnace accuracy.
  • Set furnace times, temperatures and probe settings and regulate the addition of gas, ammonia, nitrogen and enriching gas, following schedules that are set by or provided to operators.
  • Add soap and soluble oil to respective tanks to bring to proper concentration.
  • Check wash tanks for proper skimmer operation.
  • Ensure parts are checked by Inspector.
  • Maintain traceability of all open shop orders.
  • Change furnace charts daily.
