About The Position

The Batch Mixer or Paint Mixer is responsible for the in-house production of paints, glues, and other coatings. The role verifies products meet specifications, performs quality-control tests, makes adjustments to meet accepted performance and quality ranges, and maintains accurate production and quality-control records. The position supports production of colorful, non-toxic children's paint products in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Be organized, self-motivated, and dependable.
Have good communication skills and be able to verbally convey observations about production procedures.
Have basic computer skills, including simple spreadsheet and word-processing skills.
Be mechanically oriented and able to handle equipment with moving parts.
Have a valid driver's license and forklift experience.
Be able to manage simultaneous tasks and responsibilities.
Be able to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds and perform work primarily while standing or walking.

Responsibilities

Prepare the work area for daily production and confirm raw materials are available.
Weigh raw materials according to batch tickets and mix paints in dispersing machines to manufacturing specifications.
Transfer finished, quality-control-approved paint to bulk storage or a filling machine.
Perform quality-control tests, enter results into a computer database, and make necessary product adjustments.
Complete production batch tickets, enter production data, and prepare weekly production summaries.
Clean the work area and equipment at the end of the shift or day.
Monitor raw material inventory and conduct quarterly inventory counts.
Maintain manufacturing equipment, including mixers, forklifts, pumps, flow meters, and dust collectors.
