About The Position

The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) is seeking reliable and enthusiastic basketball scorekeepers for its Men's Basketball League and Youth Basketball Leagues. Scorekeepers help games run smoothly by accurately tracking game information and creating a positive experience for players, coaches, and spectators. This is a part-time opportunity and a seasonal position for Youth Sports, with opportunities to work multiple games per shift. Men's league games are primarily held on weekday evenings. Youth league games are primarily held on Sundays, with some weekday evening opportunities, throughout the winter basketball season. Training will be provided.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of basketball rules and gameplay.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused during games.
• Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable operating a scoreboard and keeping accurate records.
• Ability to communicate effectively with referees and league staff.

Nice To Haves

• Previous scorekeeping experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the electronic scoreboard and game clock throughout games.
• Accurately record team scores, personal fouls, team fouls, and timeouts.
• Maintain the official scorebook and track player participation when required.
• Communicate with referees regarding fouls, timeouts, substitutions, and game clock adjustments.
• Follow league-specific rules and procedures for game timing and scoring.
• Arrive on time and ensure scoring equipment is set up and functioning before games begin.
• Report issues or concerns to the Sports Department.
• Maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward players, coaches, referees, and spectators.
• Help ensure a smooth game-day experience for everyone involved.
