About The Position

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on data center controls and automation systems. This role involves working with various components of building automation systems, electrical monitoring systems, and data center infrastructure management systems. The technician will execute work through an approved field management system, adhering to strict safety protocols and change management processes. Responsibilities include supporting alarm response, investigating performance issues, and performing system checks. The role also requires accurate documentation of all work performed and participation in scheduled maintenance, on-call rotations, and outage support. Continuous training is expected through various company and third-party programs.

Requirements

  • Experience with BAS/BMS controllers and field panels.
  • Familiarity with EPMS and power-monitoring interface points.
  • Knowledge of DCIM-adjacent monitoring and integration points.
  • Ability to service control panels, relays, terminal blocks, low-voltage wiring, and communication modules.
  • Proficiency in maintaining sensors (temperature, humidity, pressure, airflow, leak detection, status).
  • Experience with dampers, actuators, valves, VFD control interfaces, and controlled devices.
  • Understanding of CRAH/CRAC, AHU/RTU, fan wall, chilled water, pump, cooling tower, adiabatic, and liquid-cooling control interfaces.
  • Knowledge of UPS, generator, ATS/STS, switchgear, PDU, RPP, and electrical monitoring points.
  • Experience with alarm points, trend logs, graphics, setpoints, schedules, and sequence-of-operation logic.
  • Proficiency in using an approved field management system.
  • Adherence to MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and change-management processes.
  • Awareness of redundancy, upstream/downstream impacts, stacked risk, and potential consequences of controls changes.
  • Ability to support alarm response, performance investigations, sensor failures, communication loss, and control-loop instability.
  • Skilled in point-to-point verification, sensor validation, command/feedback checks, trend review, and readiness inspections.
  • Experience supporting startup, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and turnover activities.
  • Accurate documentation of work performed, readings, trends, deficiencies, alarms, and system conditions.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, low-voltage electrical safety, site access, tool control, live-site restrictions).
  • Willingness to participate in scheduled maintenance windows, on-call rotations, after-hours response, and outage support.
  • Completion of required company, data center, controls, OEM, and mission-critical training.
