About The Position

At Automated Logic, the BAS Controls Engineering Supervisor leads a high-performing team of Controls Engineers. The role balances team management, mentorship, quality control, and manpower planning with high-level technical direction on complex building automation projects. The supervisor oversees engineering work from system design through configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning. The position also partners with the Engineering Manager, Sales Representatives, and Project Managers to plan resources, ensure technical accuracy, and maintain project milestones. Automated Logic develops and supports intelligent building solutions designed to improve building efficiency, reduce energy and operating costs, and improve indoor air quality, occupant comfort, and productivity.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and 5+ years of HVAC Controls experience, or an associate degree and 4+ years of HVAC Controls experience.
At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Visio or equivalent CAD design software.
At least 1 year of experience with BAS software, engineering tools, and standard protocols, including BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, and N2.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to travel locally up to 10% of the time.
Legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
3+ years of HVAC Controls experience.
Comprehensive working knowledge of Automated Logic software tools, including WebCTRL, SiteBuilder, Eikon, and ViewBuilder.
Advanced expertise in enterprise IP networking layouts, troubleshooting, and complex mechanical/electrical systems.
Strong ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural blueprints.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities, effective remote troubleshooting skills, and a team-first mindset.
Ability to author clear project documentation and navigate and manage the formal RFI process.
Ability to climb ladders, use lift equipment more than 8 feet above grade, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Direct, manage, and mentor direct reports; conduct performance reviews, manage employee development, and lead interviewing and hiring initiatives.
Partner with the Engineering Manager on manpower planning, engineering resource allocation, project workload balancing, and backlog monitoring.
Oversee hardware and software QA/QC reviews for direct reports, ensuring technical deliverables meet customer specifications, company standards, and project schedules.
Design complete Building Automation Systems, including specifying controllers, field devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware.
Create sequences of operation and submittal documentation.
Configure WebCTRL systems using SiteBuilder and program control algorithms and third-party integrations using Eikon.
Design graphic and text interfaces using Eikon and ViewBuilder.
Perform functional testing and commissioning for complex systems, including central chiller plants and large-scale integrations.
Partner with Sales Representatives during pre-sales engineering to ensure technical accuracy.
Coordinate with Project Managers to maintain project milestones.
