About The Position

As a Bartender, you provide exceptional hospitality by creating a welcoming and engaging experience for every guest. You skillfully prepare and serve beverages, deliver food and beverage service at the bar and tables, and ensure guest satisfaction through attentive and professional service. You make each guest's experience your top priority. The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of bartending work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Low security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
  • State of Oregon Food Handler’s Certificate.
  • State of Oregon Liquor Control Commission Server’s Permit.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage preparation, techniques, recipes, and presentation standards.
  • Knowledge of current beer, wine, spirit, and cocktail trends.
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and compliance with state and tribal regulations.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling procedures, food safety requirements, and sanitation standards.
  • Knowledge of Spirit Mountain guest service expectations and hospitality principles that create a home-field advantage for every guest.
  • Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems and computer software applications.
  • Skills in preparing and serving beverages with accuracy, consistency, speed, and attention to detail.
  • Skills in recognizing and correcting situations that are unhealthy or may lead to poor customer service.
  • Skills in thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Skills in communicating professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and create a welcoming, engaging environment.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and correctly enter all orders into the POS system.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes, company standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Guide guests through food and beverage menus by confidently recommending menu items, upselling food and beverages, promotions, and daily specials.
  • Clear dirty dishes from bar/tables, and clean food and debris from tables, chairs, floors, and other areas.
  • Ensure all food and beverages are prepared and served according to quality standards and guest expectations.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring accuracy, presentation quality, and guest satisfaction.
  • Continuously monitor bar/tables to ensure guest needs are met and service remains attentive throughout the dining experience.
  • Coordinate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, food runners, and support staff to ensure timely service execution.
  • Engage guests in sports-related conversations.
  • Prepare garnishes, stock bar products and supplies, maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, and ensure adequate inventory levels throughout the shift.
  • Complete opening, running, and closing side work duties and leave the bar organized and fully stocked to set incoming Team Members up for success.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and comply with all responsible alcohol service requirements, ensuring a safe environment for all guests.
  • Accurately process guest transactions in accordance with departmental cash-handling procedures and ensure all forms of payment are correctly entered and reconciled.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, health department regulations, food safety standards, liquor control regulations, and responsible beverage service requirements.
  • Support The Zone’s sports bar atmosphere by creating positive interactions that enhance the guest experience.
  • Delivers Spirit Mountain’s Spirit of Excellence by consistently modeling attitudes and behaviors in alignment with SMGI’s Pride Values, Brand Promise, and Business Vision.
  • Learns, comprehends, and complies with all Company and departmental policies and procedures, MICS, gaming regulations, and Title 31 Regulation requirements.
  • Creates a memorable guest experience through friendly and knowledgeable service.
  • Maintains a culture of hospitality and excellence by acting as an ambassador for Spirit Mountain Casino, providing personalized service that makes the guest feel welcomed, invited, and appreciated.
  • Follow all Corporate and departmental safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for guests and Team Members alike.
