About The Position

The Bartender is responsible for providing high-quality beverage service to guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. This role is accountable for preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to company standards, maintaining a clean and organised bar area, ensuring compliance with alcohol laws, and creating a welcoming guest experience that supports overall restaurant profitability.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in a fast-paced environment
Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages and knowledge of ABC laws
Excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to multitask
Possess or has the ability to obtain Alcoholic Beverage Certification and Food Handler permits
Ability to efficiently operate a Point-of-Sale terminal
Ability to solve practical problems
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business information
Ability to operate POS systems accurately
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Strong communication and guest service skills
Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions

Nice To Haves

English verbal communication skills; second language a plus
Knowledge of classic and specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and standards
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the bar, bar top, wells, and back bar at all times
Accurately ring in all beverages and maintain proper cash and POS handling procedures
Verify guest identification and comply with all state and local alcohol service laws
Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to ensure a positive experience
Monitor guest alcohol consumption and responsibly refuse service when necessary
Follow proper handling, storage, and rotation of all beverage products
Communicate effectively with barbacks, servers, and management to support service flow
Assist with opening and closing bar duties
Participate in inventory counts and receiving beverage deliveries
Assist with special events, beach service, or tiki deck operations
Assist in training new bartenders or barbacks as directed by management
Perform other duties as assigned
Perform Oyster Shucking / Barback duties as needed
