About The Position

To prepare and serve guests alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a responsible and professional manner. This role involves providing excellent customer service, adhering to recipes, monitoring guest intoxication, maintaining beverage knowledge, processing sales transactions, and ensuring a clean and stocked bar. The bartender will also answer customer questions, handle complaints professionally, and communicate effectively with staff and management. Compliance with company policies, gaming regulations, and safety procedures is essential. The position requires reporting to work on time in professional attire and maintaining personal cleanliness.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance with the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with other staff members and guests.
  • Must have basic math skills and ability to count money and make change correctly.
  • Must be able to read and understand written policies, procedures, etc.
  • Must be reliable, courteous, and friendly.
  • Must be able to work directly with the general public.
  • Must be flexible with shift and days off.
  • Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations.
  • Must be able to meet all non-supervisory training and education requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous alcoholic beverage service experience preferred.
  • Members of the Meskwaki Nation and other Native American Tribes who are qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will be given preference in accordance to established procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, friendly and courteous service of all beverages, ensuring customer satisfaction and adhering to Bartender Service Standards.
  • Follow established recipes for mixing cocktails and present them in assigned glassware.
  • Deter guest intoxication by monitoring alcoholic beverage consumption and visible signs of intoxication, complying with F&B Department Alcoholic Beverages Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of beverage offerings, menu, and related prices.
  • Comply with sales transaction processing and reporting procedures, including processing gaming point redemption purchases on the POS System.
  • Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and orderly bar.
  • Answer customer questions correctly concerning F&B venues, casino promotions, etc.
  • Respond to customer complaints in a professional manner and notify the shift supervisor immediately of any complaints.
  • Report any customer who appears intoxicated to the shift supervisor immediately.
  • Display flexibility to meet beverage work schedule demands.
  • Share tips fairly with bar backs and other bartenders and report tips earned in accordance with Company Policy and Federal regulations.
  • Assume responsibility for knowledge of all information included in the beverage Memo Book.
  • Communicate and network effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives to maintain a productive department operation.
  • Safeguard and account for the assets of the owners.
  • Comply with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
  • Monitor the casino environment and follow established safety procedures to ensure the safety of guests and co-workers.
  • Work respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
  • Report to work on time and as required in professional attire, displaying a high level of personal cleanliness and following personal appearance standards.
  • Comply with all departmental safety regulations, using safety equipment as required.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions, including Food Safety classes.
  • Assist bar backs and cocktail servers as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
