About The Position

Bartenders create a welcoming bar experience by preparing quality drinks and providing friendly, attentive service. They use knowledge of craft cocktails, classic drinks, beer, and wine to make recommendations and prepare beverages to the bar’s standards. In addition to managing drink orders, bartenders engage with guests, keep service running smoothly, and help create an enjoyable atmosphere. They verify guests are of legal drinking age and serve alcohol responsibly.

Requirements

• Prior experience in an establishment with bar and food service.
• Extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages and knowledge of different types of cuisines.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems.
• Stamina to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Food Handlers Certificate.
• Responsible Beverage Service Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the bar with outstanding hospitality.
• Verify customers’ identification and age requirements.
• Mix traditional and creative cocktails according to menu specifications.
• Process customer payments.
• Clean glasses and bar utensils.
• Make suggestions based on customers’ tastes and preferences.
• Record and balance receipts and prepare daily reports.
• Open and maintain tabs throughout the shift.
• Build rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
