About The Position

The Bartender prepares and serves beverages to guests in the bar area in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. The role includes setting up bars, keeping beverage and perishable stock in good condition, processing guest orders and payments, complying with liquor laws, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The position is with Levy at the University of Arkansas.

Requirements

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
Ability to work in many different weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Follow state, federal, and company liquor regulations, including rules for serving minors and intoxicated guests.
Set up assigned bars and requisition and stock beer, wine, and ice.
Maintain stock and other perishables to ensure product quality.
Greet guests courteously and in a friendly manner.
Take and/or process drink orders.
Check guests at the bar for proper identification.
Recognize and respond to guest inebriation as trained, and demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.
Receive guest payments, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly completed.
Lock up and store beverage products, food, equipment, and POS items.
Perform general cleaning to meet health and safety standards and keep the work area clean and organized.
Perform other duties as assigned.
